If you are participating in psychological treatment, a session with a psychologist typically lasts about 50 minutes. Session length may vary depending on the individual psychologist, your needs, and the kind of activities being done. During assessment and treatment, the psychologist works to help you better understand your thoughts, emotional experience, and behaviors, and to find healthy solutions to problems.

Psychological treatment may take place over a relatively short period of time, or over an extended period of time, depending upon your individual needs and preferences.

Wanda has a Master of Counselling degree from Athabasca University, and has over 15 years of experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing addictions, trauma and complex mental health issues within residential, community outreach, and child protection settings. She has a keen interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including intergenerational trauma, addictions, anxiety, and depression. Wanda also works with couples and families. Wanda works from an integrated approach, often pairing Solution-Focused Therapy with Cognitive-Behavioural strategies. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Wanda is also passionate working with couples and families that present with a wide range of concerns (including addictions, infidelity, blended family issues, etc.). She is working towards her certification in Gottman Method and has completed levels 1 and 2.

She strives to help clients identify their strengths, skills, and knowledge so they feel confident in managing problems that life often brings.
